Verdict: Designed with versatility in mind, the Riverside Fabric Handlebar Bottle Cage by Decathlon is a lightweight, soft-structured alternative to traditional bottle cages for carrying water bottles, flasks or snacks.

For bikepacking, this accessory shines due to its adaptable mounting system and multifunctional storage. Using rip-tab fasteners, it can be securely attached to almost any type of handlebar or stem, making it ideal for riders using alternative frame geometries or carrying larger frame bags.

It easily accommodates a 1-litre bottle, and the drawcord closure system ensures contents stay secure even on bumpy off-road terrain. For multi-day adventures, this makes it a useful holder not just for hydration, but also for items like snacks, a compact camera, or a power bank that you want to keep within reach.

On training rides, especially longer endurance sessions or summer spins, the cage provides additional hydration storage without committing to a heavy front rack or bag setup. For riders who only have space for one frame-mounted bottle, or prefer not to carry a backpack, this becomes an essential solution for staying fuelled over hours in the saddle.

As a companion on general bike-based adventures—whether that's commuting, gravel exploring, or micro-touring, the Riverside cage offers a perfect blend of function and minimalism. Its soft, water-repellent polyester material means it’s quiet, won’t scratch your frame, and stays reasonably dry in rain showers. Being tool-free and easy to remove, you can swap it between bikes or pack it away when not in use.
